GET YOUR FISH PROCESSED TO TAKE HOME.
We can take your FISH to the local SMOKE SHOP, Grieselda’s, to process for your trip home. Smoked or frozen. Fish is professionally shrink wrapped in smaller portions and it will keep well in your freezer. Smoked fish does not have to be frozen, but it is recommended to leave in refrigerator and will keep for a few months as well. It is VERY GOOD. You will be the envy of your friends and neighbors.
The smoke shop will keep your catch for you until you are ready to go home. You will need to take your fish on the plane with you. They cannot ship fish out of Mexico. For the frozen fish you will need to get a HARD SIDED cooler. Wal-Mart is close by for the best price. The smoke shop also sells coolers. The airport security will look inside your cooler before you check it so do not tape it up yet. Once they have inspected inside the cooler, they will provide tape for you. Tape up the edge of the cooler lid, and then around twice in two different places. It will still be frozen when you get home. If you are traveling out of country, ask us about this. Depending on where you are going, it might not be frozen when you arrive. If you arrive at your desination withing 8-10 hours of departure, your catch should be fine. Again, ask us or the smoke shop for advice on longer destinations.
