Fishing in Cabo.
November 13, 2013
The fishing has been good this year. The past several weeks boats have been getting several marlin, dorado, with some makos and wahoo. Mostly marlin and dorado. Our boat Silverado caught and released 8 marlin three days ago and also caught 6 dorado. Adam from Chicago caught three marlin yesterday on Marshall. Steve from Austin, Texas caught 4 marlin, 4 dorado, and a mako shark. Steve from Portland caught three marlin and 6 dorado. And many others with similar stories. Most of the fish caught recently have been right out in front of the ocean hotels off the Lighthouse only a few miles out. Everyone is catching fish and there are a lot of fish around. Fishing should remain like this for some time. Come on down and give it a try.

Monster BLUE MARLIN – 900lbs! We had a big blue on a couple days ago that was over 800lbs, maybe 900lbs. The fish came to the boat and then ran out 400-500 yards of line 8 times. You can’t stop them when they do that. We fought that monster for 7 1/2 hours until the line finally broke. The marlin bill is very rough so after a while it will fray the line. I’m surprised it didnt break off earlier. The fish hit a live bait on one of the smaller bait rods so that is why it took so long. If it hit a 50 or 80 trolling reel, it would have “only” taken about 3 hours. Client is still recovering. I told him to eat his Wheaties as the big blues are around, but he forgot. This is a real story of the “Big One that got away”
The fishing has been spectacular for a while now and shows no signs of slowing. Bryan from Central Missouri hooked the giant blue above. Craig from Colorado caught three marlin and a huge wahoo two days ago. Adrian from Minnesota and her family caught three sails, one marlin, 10 tuna, and a couple big dorado. And the list goes on. Fishing has been great, and the clients are happy.

Fishing has been good with boats coming back with happy anglers. Frank from Orange County caught two marlin, 150lbs each, 6 yellowfin tuna and 4 dorados. The dorados have been good size lately. Most boats getting 2-3 marlin, yellowfin tuna and dorado. We are still getting mako sharks which are very good eating. The fish are scattered everywhere. Tuna schools are providing hot action. Most fish caught on lures. Live bait casting too. Come and give it a try. Fishing has been good this year and we expect it to continue.
