The Fishing

Cabo San Lucas is the best marlin fishing in the world!  There are more marlin caught here per hour fished than anywhere else in this year round sportfishery at the southern tip of Baja California.    The fishing is also great for dorado, wahoo, sailfish, yellowfin tuna, yellowtail, and mako and hammerhead sharks.

The great fishing combined with the best weather you could hope for almost all the time make Cabo San Lucas one of the best fishing destinations in the world, not to mention that Cabo San Lucas is probably the BEST PLACE IN MEXICO, PERIOD.  Beaches, golf, restaurants, nightlife, CABO HAS IT ALL.  Once you get your first taste of what Cabo has to offer including this incredible fishery, you will come back again and again.

We encourage catch and release for the marlin.  We tag the fish and send in the tag card to IGFA with you as the angler.  YOUR fish is still swimming in the sea with YOUR name on it.  You can have a trophy mount replica made for your wall, or you can use the real fish if you prefer.

We troll 5-7 lures and several teasers off 36′ triple spread outriggers.  There are custom transom and bow bait tanks for live bait pitching to surface “tailing” marlin (we catch a lot of marlin this way; other fish too).   We also troll live bait off downriggers (and outriggers). We have 6 large TUNA TUBES for large live baits for the big BLACK & BLUE MARLIN.  There is a Tournament Grade Pompanette Fish Fighting hair in the 14′ wide cockpit.  We also have stand up gear and harnesses as well as gimble belts.  We use 30′s and 50′s Penn International 2-Speed reels trolling for striped marlin (and other fish) and 70′s and 80′s for blacks and blues.  We have 130′s with over one mile of 130 pound tounament line that we use for big fish tounaments like the WORLD FAMOUS BISBEE BLACK & BLUE.  We use 20”s & 30′s Acurate casting reels and Seeker bait casting rods for surface cruising fish, especially  marlin, tuna and dorado.  We catch fish.

We have arrangements with two local restaurants to cook your day’s catch if you like or have it smoked to take back home.  We will freeze and package your fish at no charge.

Look for grey and humpback whales, jumping dolphin, porpoise, manta rays and sharks; sea turtles, seals, sea lions, and whale sharks as well as the marlin on the surface. The Sea of Cortez merging with the Pacific Ocean is one of the most diverse marine ecosystems in the world. The sea is alive and the fishing is spectacular.
